It is due to return at the beginning of the 2020 school year.

Member for Port Stephens, Ms Kate Washington MP, handed out the PBL certificates to the recipients.

Ms Washington is a strong supporter of the PBL program and sees the benefits it brings to the schools and to the wider community.

Ms Washington said, “Well done to all the students who received PBL awards tonight.”

“Thank you to everyone supporting the PBL program, it’s such a success because of the partnerships across our schools, community, and businesses.”

“By working together, we are making our kids and our community stronger.”

The week’s award winners include:

Darcy Lawrence, Grahamstown Public School: Nominated by staff who attended the Stage 3 excursion to Canberra.

Darcy demonstrated our school PBL values of safety, respect, and personal best throughout the trip. He was a wonderful role model for our school.

Dylan Broadfoot, Medowie Public School: For his valuable assistance to students, staff, and the community during the school’s musical ‘Travel Through Time.’

Isla Johnson, Karuah Public School: For being a great helper at the Karuah Timber and Oyster Festival. Isla was nominated by a community member for being a great assistant throughout the day. She helped by picking up rubbish and taking money from customers. Isla has such a happy personality and is always trying to help other people.

Abby Marks, Hunter River High School: Awarded for volunteering her free time to spend time with students in the Multi-Cat class, helping with their work and social skills. Thank you Abbey for your kindness and consideration. This is greatly appreciated.

Jacinta Brooker, Seaham Public School: Jacinta was an outstanding helper during our recent school fete. She organised much on the day and contributed to an outstanding community event where a considerable amount of money was raised.

Tamika Argent, Irrawang Public School: For always demonstrating our school PBL values of being safe, responsible learner who shows respect. Tamika follows these values at school and in the community to everyone, everywhere, every time.

Ellie Ping, Irrawang High School: Nominated for the exemplary way she represented our school PBL values at the Legacy Public Speaking awards, and also adjudicating the primary schools Lions Junior Public Speaking competition last term.

Kaylem Sines, Raymond Terrace Public School: Recognised by staff at the local swimming pool for displaying the Raymond Terrace Community PBL values of respect, responsibility, and safety while participating in school swim scheme lessons.

Sierra Desjardins, Salt Ash Public School: For always being courteous and gracious when visiting the school office.

Sierra always upholds PBL values of being a positive, respectful, and safe learner.
