RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say about a proposal for a new service centre, to be built at the northern Bulahdelah interchange.

A petrol station and eatery are planned for the site, providing southbound travellers with an opportunity to refuel and refresh whilst on their journey.

The Planning Proposal also comes with a Planning Agreement between the landowner and MidCoast Council to grant $500,000 towards improvements to Bulahdelah to offset any economic impacts of the development.

A community reference group was established to identify a prioritised package of proposed improvements to Bulahdelah that funds obtained via the Planning Agreement could be spent on.

This list will be exhibited separately in the near future.

“We are grateful for the assistance of the Bulahdelah Highway Service Centre Planning Agreement Reference Group, who have been able to provide a local perspective on ways to enhance their town,” said MidCoast Council’s Acting Manager of Land Use Planning, Gerard Tuckerman.

“Now we want to hear from the wider community about their thoughts on both the Planning Proposal and Planning Agreement.”
