“This allows us to curate harmonious areas within the gallery – whereupon guests may be better able to envision what a piece may look like in their own space.”

There are four artists in this eighth exhibition.

John Thiering’s new 2D works will adorn the gallery walls.

“His diverse collection, entitled ‘Hypnagogia’ (the state of consciousness between wakefulness and sleep), alludes to the dream-like subject matter of his paintings and describes the way in which his imagery and ideas surface from a state of semi-consciousness.”

Colin Dray is an award-winning blacksmithing artist who works out of his workshop/studio in Bellingen.

“Using a hammer, anvil and fire, he creates beautiful and often practical pieces; sculptures, hat racks, door handles/knockers, coolamons, fire tools etc.

“Reanne Brewin has been busy working on her Japanese inspired ceramics that will include innovative, functional and uniquely patterned pots, vessels, cups, bowls, platters and sushi serving sets that will add an earthy harmony to the space.

“John Van Der Kolk (sculptor) working out of his Woolgoolga-based workshop; accompanied by a kookaburra named Kev, friendly lorikeets, lunch-stealing sugar gliders and a new puppy to inspire him, we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.”

Two additional local artists will also have their Tree-o debut – Carmen Lee (timber and hand-drawn pyrography pieces) and Linda Bizon (luxurious woven scarves and bookmarks).

Karen Tollan continues her evergreen showing of jewellery showing a unique mix of bead, semi-precious stones and pearls.

King Fisher Loud Speakers will have a pair of their A16 speakers with Watergum veneer and a pair of SP15s with exposed ply sides on display with Myles and Trevor Oliver-King on-hand to demonstrate their sound quality by appointment.

Showing 13 November – 1 February 2022.
