With our farmers to the west in dire straits, and no sign of rain on the horizon, they now need urgent help.

Answering the call, the Tea Gardens Country Club and its members.

Last week the Tea Gardens Men’s Bowling Club held a big fundraiser, with 52 bowlers taking to the greens.

The Club donated all the greens fees for the day and raffles helped increase the coffers.

“All up from the Men’s Club, the Women Bowlers and the Fishing Club we raised $3,000” President of the Country Club Board, Terry Munright said.”

“When everyone is doing it tough, some are doing it tougher than others,” Terry said.

Not to be outdone, the Tea Gardens Country Club added another $20,000 bringing the total to $23,000
to go to the Rural Aid initiative for Hunter farmers needing support through the ‘Buy a Bale’ campaign.

“We’re a little Club but we do a lot,” Terry said.

President of the Men’s Bowling Club, Noel Jackson said, “We’ve got great members, it wasn’t a problem, the farmers are in need of support, but we’ve gone above and beyond, it brought tears to my eyes.”
