The most recent being “James” by Percival Everett, a retelling of the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from the point of view of Jim, the slave. “We’re pretty casual and relaxed, people are welcome to come along whether or not they finished the book, and whether or not they liked it,” Lisa said. “As well as chatting about the book, we enjoy nibblies and drinks. “When we read, we can travel to places we may never be able to physically visit, hear from people both similar to and (hopefully) very different from us, learn about different cultures, countries and time periods, and have a break from things that might be difficult or just plain boring.” For more information, call Lisa Hall on 0428 833 602.
