Empowering women – pelvic health at Port Stephens

THE Nelson Bay Country Women’s Association will host a special event aimed at empowering women on 22 August at the CWA Hall on Gowrie Avenue Nelson Bay at 7pm.

Women’s health is important and as women age they need to be aware of the increasing importance of maintaining their pelvic health.

The presentation will assist women in being educated, prepared and empowered in maintaining their pelvic health.
Maintaining good pelvic health leads to confidence.

The Australian Department of Health and Aging states it is important to keep your pelvic floor muscles strong because strong pelvic floor muscles mean good bladder control.

Guest presenter and specialist Amy Hansen will be speaking about the unique challenges that women face as they age.

The presentation will also provide attendees with practical strategies to nurture and maintain wellbeing.

Amy Hansen will provide practical preventative and lifestyle strategies, as well as discuss treatment options.

Dianne McKenzie of the Nelson Bay CWA evening branch told News Of The Area, “women’s pelvic health is an important part of keeping healthy and avoiding long-term health issues, as a women’s organisation, the CWA is hoping this information evening will be beneficial to the women of Port Stephens by empowering them to take action to improve and maintain their pelvic health.”
