His books appeal to the Upper Primary age group and he visited Bulahdelah Central School on 26 May.

The presentation to Years 3-7 consisted of Duncan Ball reading poetry and extracts from one of the Emily Eyefinger books and a question time.

Great Lakes Library organised the event in conjunction with the Great Books Festival and Lateral Learning.

The Bulahdelah Central School visit was subsidised by the Great Lakes Library.

On an annual basis an author is decided upon and then completes a two day tour of the Great Lakes area.

Meredith Campbell, from Forster Library, spoke to Myall Coast News and explained that having an author come visit brings the book to life.

“The events are organised with the aim to encourage children to write and illustrate themselves and to show the students where the author began and where they are now.”

The author visit hopefully installed a love of reading for the Bulahdelah Central School students.
