The ADF has announced Coffs Harbour will be one of a number of regional training grounds for their troops in late September.

The training will include ADF helicopters flying during the day and night, at low altitudes in urban and rural areas.

“Members of the public who see the training should not be concerned that any of the locations are under any form of actual threat,” an ADF spokesperson said.

“The public should not be alarmed if they see or hear military helicopters and military personnel carrying weapons.
“No ammunition will be used during the training.”

A media statement explained the essential training is vital to maintain ‘Australia’s world-class military capability’.

“It is not a part of the Australian Government’s COVID-19 response.

“The training is being conducted in a manner that accounts for COVID-19 restrictions and good health management processes.

“The ADF thanks the public for their patience and cooperation while this essential training is being conducted.”
