THE Cronulla Sharks have set up a five day training camp in Coffs Harbour ahead of their widely anticipated match against the Gold Coast Titans this Saturday.

The Sharks immersed themselves in Coffs Harbour history and culture with a visit to the Big Banana last Tuesday, after which Nicho Hynes, Cam McInnes and Siosifa Talakai visited sick children at Coffs Harbour Hospital.

Last year the Sharks won the hearts of the region with several days spent visiting schools, charities and hospitals.

This year C.ex Coffs International Stadium may feel like Shark Park as the Coffs Coast continue their love for the big men from the Shire.

Meanwhile, Coffs Harbour’s homegrown hero Locky Miller visited the ‘Key Youth Hub’, sharing experiences and connecting with the younger generation of the community.

The former Sevens Olympian had a dream debut against the Titans last month where he scored a 70 metre try and he will be hoping for more game time on Saturday.

However, the Sharks do not have any injuries or suspensions in Miller’s position and with the half-backs and fullback Will Kennedy in a rich vein of form he may have to bide his time.

The Sharks enter the game in fine form following a convincing 38-16 win over the Warriors last Sunday with Sione Katoa scoring a hat-trick.

The Sharks are currently in fifth position on the NRL ladder with their eyes on a top- four-finish, hunting down the Broncos and Cowboys who are two points ahead.

It’s a different story for the Titans who are sitting at the bottom of the ladder with only three wins from fourteen matches.

The Titans’ woes were further exacerbated with star second rower David Fifita unlikely to be fit for the match with an aggravated knee injury and fullback Jayden Campbell out with a hamstring injury.

The match kicks off at 3pm at C.ex Coffs International Stadium on Saturday 18 June and is likely to be another sell-out, approaching ten thousand spectators.

Section Leader for Stadium and Major Events Sharon McDougall put out a cry of support for the home team and encouraged ticket holders to use the free transportation.

“We encourage everyone on the Coffs Coast to come to the game, and get behind the Sharks at their home away from home.

“A free shuttle bus service will operate from 12pm on game day to get everyone to and from the game safely.

“Buses will run from York St, Vernon St, First Avenue, Sawtell and Toormina Gardens Shopping Centre from 12pm,” she said.
