Sponsored by the U3A, the concert will be led by David Miller, the Conservatorium’s Head of Performance Studies.

“Anyone who has attended one of these concerts knows that each of the young musicians who visits us on these occasions comes with an excellent CV, and is highly talented.” the U3A’s Lyn Chaikin said.

“This year we have a saxophone quartet.”

“Samuel Dong, baritone saxophone, is currently studying in his second year at Sydney Con in the Bachelor of Performance Degree majoring in Classical Saxophone.”

“He has already been involved in two CD recordings.”

“Tom Spencer, tenor sax, is currently in his fourth year of studies for the same degree and has performed in various ensembles ranging from classical to jazz. “

“Brian Bae, soprano sax, is a second year student at the University of Sydney studying Civil Engineering/Music Studies, continuing from the Conservatorium High School.”

“And Angus Key, alto sax, began his saxophone studies aged nine.”

“Angus is also in his second year of studies at the Conservatorium of Music studying a Bachelor of Music Performance.”

Tickets for the concert at 2pm on Saturday 4 August are $20 and are available through Hawks Nest and Tea Gardens Pharmacies.

The musicians, who are being hosted by members of the U3A, will also perform at Tea Gardens Primary School this Friday afternoon.
