Born and raised in Kempsey, Mr Conaghan said there was “still much work to be done” to address the “pressing issues our community faces”. “I am committed to tackling the rising rates of domestic violence, improving access to healthcare, growing a strong local economy, and addressing the housing pressures that so many in our region experience,” he said. Nationals Federal Election Council (FEC) Vice Chair Janine Reed said Conaghan has a proven track record of delivering results for the region. “The fact that Pat was preselected unopposed speaks volumes about the confidence that both the party and the community have in his ability to represent Cowper,” she said. The next Australian federal election will be held on or before 27 September 2025. In recent weeks, Caz Heise has been endorsed as the Voices 4 Cowper ‘community independent’.
