The company .id brings together teams of demographic and spatial analysts, urban economists, industry sector experts, IT and data management specialists, and is the largest population forecasting team in the country. “MidCoast Council provides demographic information, expertly presented by .id, free on our website for everyone to access, and once again, we’re pleased to be able to provide workshops to guide people through the vast amounts of information that’s there,” says Council’s Coordinator Community Strengthening, Lyndie Hepple. “In the past these workshops have been well attended, and if you came last year, we encourage you to come along again, there’s new things to learn every year.” The information that is freely available includes population statistics, including community and area profiles, age break downs, socio-economic status, home ownership and much more. Population growth forecasts and economic profiles of the area are included, providing valuable information for strategic and future planning. If you’re part of a community group, the statistics can help you demonstrate need for your funding applications – vital to helping you secure grants. The workshops will also benefit businesses, students, educational institutions and government agencies, allowing for better marketing, strategic planning and improving community outcomes across a range of social activities. The workshops will begin on Monday 8 July from 10am – 12.30pm in Tea Gardens at the Baptist Church and 3pm – 4.30pm or 5pm – 6.30pm at Forster Council Chambers. On Tuesday 9 July, you can attend from 9am – 10.30am or 11am – 12.30pm at Taree’s Council Chambers, and in Gloucester at Council’s offices from 2.30pm – 4pm.
