Is your local community group always talking about that ‘one day, when we win the lottery’?

Have you got plans for an upgrade or extension?

Is there a new program you’d love to set in motion, if only you had the money to back it?

Well now could be the time to take action.

All local not-for-profit organisations are being invited to apply for funding grants from the NSW State Government.

Funds can be used for infrastructure or capital works projects or for equipment.

Applicants are required to be incorporated, and must be not-for-profit.

Requests for grants of $2500 or above will be considered, as part of the official application process.

Local Member for Port Stephens, Kate Washington, said she encourages all local groups who think they are eligible, to apply.

“This grant program is an excellent opportunity to for local groups to fund much needed upgrades and repairs.

I have recently met with a number of the 2015 recipients and inspected the new equipment and facilities this grant has funded.

It is fantastic to see local groups successfully applying for funding and seeing their efforts come to fruition.”

2015 saw 12 separate groups from Port Stephens share in approximately $300,000.

Recipients included Port Stephens Women’s Crisis and Support Group, Medowie Football Club, Karuah Public School P&C and Anna Bay Public School.

Applications for the 2016 Community Building Partnerships Grant Program opened on 13 June and close 5pm 22 July.
