Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au Community feedback will help to shape these important policies moving forward and there’s plenty of time to get submissions in with all exhibition periods closing on 1 May at 4.30pm. “Sometimes it’s easy to miss the opportunity to provide feedback and insight into council matters but it’s really important to us that the community can share their thoughts,” said MidCoast Council’s Director of Liveable Communities, Paul De Szell. “We are asking the community to take the time to familiarise themselves with these draft policies and let us know how they think we could do things better, what can be changed or improved and advise us of anything we may have missed.” There are four draft policies currently on exhibition for the community to provide feedback on. These are: – The Draft Abandoned Vehicles and Vessels Policy – to ensure legislation and resources are applied to achieve positive environmental health and safety outcomes for the community in an ethical and transparent manner. – Draft Surveillance Camera Policy – this policy provides details about the use of surveillance cameras around Council assets. – Draft Community Donations Policy – this policy provides a framework for the provision of financial assistance by MidCoast Council to eligible organisations for the purposes of delivering community development and capacity-building projects and activities. – Draft Barking Dog (Animal Noise) Policy – this policy provides a structured, consistent and transparent approach to barking dog complaints and offensive noise complaints from other species received by Council. Anyone who would like to provide feedback on any of the policies currently on exhibition, can do so by heading to Council’s Have Your Say page at www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/HYS It’s as simple as downloading the draft policy and then completing the submission form on the policy page.
