Kathy Brown of WetCon told News Of The Area, “On 22 December, the Friday before Christmas, a new DA was submitted for a single dwelling costing approximately $450 000.
“The General Manager for Port Stephens Council, Wayne Wallis, informed our group by email and said that the required Species Impact Statement had still not been included.”
Members of the public rallied to send objections to the first DA to Council and now this process may have to be recommended for the new DA which has an extended closing submission deadline of 17 February, 2018.
“Of course, all the same reasons still apply for any development to be opposed so perhaps all anyone will need is the new DA number, (16-2017-936-1) for your reworked submission,” she said.
Mayor Ryan Palmer told News Of The Area, “Council will require a species impact statement for flora and fauna; the developer will need to meet all Council requirements, and all information needs to be provided before the application will be considered.”
