It is one of eighteen projects in the Oxley electorate to share in a total of $300,000.

Member for Oxley Michael Kemp said the grants would provide much-need improvements to local facilities.

“This grassroots funding will directly help create a more vibrant and inclusive local community with positive social, environmental, and recreational outcomes,” he said in a written statement.

“I congratulate all the organisations that were successful in their application and look forward to seeing how these projects make a real difference for community groups in the area.”

The Comboyne War Memorial Hall is actively used by the community.

Built around 1922, the simple weatherboard and iron-roof structure was dedicated to local servicemen in 1945.

It now caters for pre-school and school holiday events, as well as barn dances and live music, and weddings, christenings and community theatre.
