Hunter River High School’s School Representative Council (SRC) organised the fundraiser, successfully raising over $3,000 for school improvements. Despite the heat, the day was a huge success and both students and staff had an absolute ball, made even more special with a visit from the Raymond Terrace Fire Brigade, who hosed down the students with cool water from the fire truck, as they completed each lap. HRHS would like to thank their community sponsors, who helped make the day extra special with donations. MarketPlace Raymond Terrace supplied every student and staff with refreshing ice-blocks at the end of their run, Terrace Meats Butcher and Browns Butchery donated sausages and Woolworths Central Plaza donated all the bread for sausage sizzle to celebrate. Community Liaison Officer, Kerrie Howells said, “Without this tremendous community spirit and support, like that was shown to HRHS, events like our Colour Run aren’t as successful.” “Our staff and students had a fantastic day, despite the scorching heat and it was a great way for us all to finish off an awesome year at HRHS.” “Special mention should go to teachers, Mrs Hungerford and Miss Sydenham for their amazing organisational commitment and hard work to get today up and running for all of HRHS to enjoy,” she said. “The best news of all is the over $3,000 raised by staff and students towards this terrific fundraiser.” Smiles all round at the Colour Run. Raymond Terrace fire brigade were on hand to cool participants down.
