JAS Khunkhun has had the time of her life in winning two basketball tournaments in the USA. The Coffs Harbour Suns junior was part of Charity Bounce’s Elite Women’s Under 18s team that took out two prestigious tournaments. The Charity Bounce team won two events at the Run 4 Roses Classic and Championship tournaments in Louisville, Kentucky, which attracted top girls’ teams from across the country. The 16-year-old said it was an amazing experience playing in the USA. “America was amazing, it was the best experience ever, it was unmatched,” she said. “There were thousands of teams over there, and they were split up into divisions and pools, and in our pool we came out as silver champions in the Classic tournament, and for the Championship tournament we came out as gold champions.” The young guard felt she has come back a better player after her USA playing experience. “It’s opened up a whole new aspect to my game that I didn’t know I was capable of,” she said. Coffs Harbour Suns coach Kiah Bowen was also a part of the winning Charity Bounce team, as associate head coach.
