COFFS Harbour Squash players caused a racket in Parkes last weekend at the first silver ranking event of 2022 where they won a swag of trophies and gained state ranking points. Micaylah Tidey competed in the under 17s and 19s combined event where she finished runner up and then backed up to win the under 19s girl final in five close games defeating Chloe Mason 11-5, 11-8, 9-11, 5-11, 11-8. NSW Junior Coach Jemma Wratten praised the performances from the juniors, who consistently travel to big events. “The junior players performed well and the group had fantastic results. “The juniors have been on court working hard, It’s a testament to the training we do as a group and the time they spend training and practicing,” said Jemma. Twelve-year-old Madison Nargar from Korora continued her impressive form that bagged her the NSW State Title U/13s crown. “Madison played up an age level to test herself and won the girls under 15s in straight sets with a commanding scoreline of 11-3, 11-5, 11-6. “Jaida Wigley was runner up in the girls under 11s going down in the final in three sets to Claire Bayley. “In the boys events Lachlan Walmsley finished runner up, after playing some of his best squash and was consistent in all matches. “His final was a rematch of a pool round against Jackson Wylie from Sydney. “The match saw both players moving and covering all parts of the court at pace and at a high tempo with Jackson taking the final in four sets,” said Jemma.
