Dan Mitsuharu, who will be facilitating the workshop making origami cranes said, “In Japan, origami is traditional – it is something I have just always done to bring a smile to other people. “If I’m waiting at the bus stop or restaurant and there’s a newspaper or napkin there, I just fold origami and give it or leave it for someone.” “All of the mini-art projects have been designed so people can do them from home, but all have a collaborative element,” said Di. When mini-projects are completed, they can be dropped off or sent to the Neighbourhood Centre, where the team will combine them into displays or murals to spread and share the joy with the community. Workshops have a different theme each week and will be held afternoons 3:30-5:00pm, for four weeks commencing Tuesday 2 November. The workshops are free to join and everyone who registers will be sent a Connect and Create Art Pack free-of-charge with all the supplies and everything needed for the activities. To register book online at https://www.trybooking.com/BUVBY, places may be limited. For further information, call Di on 0408 555157. This project has been supported by the NSW Government.
