WHAT’S stopping you?

That’s the question being asked by Lions Club of Coffs Harbour as they launch their amateur Talent Quest.

The event is a fundraiser to benefit the Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation.

“Have you ever wanted to be on stage, strut your stuff, sing up a storm or show off your magic?” posed Lions Club of Coffs Harbour president Chris Hansen.

“Well now is your chance, because our local Lions Clubs together with Lions on Oz, are hosting an amateur Talent Quest at the C.ex Club in Coffs Harbour on Tuesday 9 July at 6:30pm.”

There are two categories: one for those under fourteen years of age, and one for those older.

“It’s a new idea for our Northern Zone and it is a great idea, reaching out to the community and celebrating talents and having fun for a cause,” Chris told NOTA.

Any act is welcome, however acts are limited to ten per category.

“Get in quick to secure your spot,” said Chris.

Entry forms are available from the C.ex front counter off Vernon Street.

“Everyone is welcome to come and join us on the night.

“There will be a raffle with fantastic prizes, and all proceeds go to childhood cancer research, so it is a worthy cause in anyone’s book.”

The local Lions say the night should be “a whole lot of fun and entertainment”, with occasional music provided by the Coffs Harbour Men’s Shed band, The Friday Rockers.

Acts will be limited to a performance time of five minutes.

If you require backing music you will need to bring it on a USB stick on the night.
