Coffs Harbour is back at the Races

Miss Pierpoint finished in first place, closely followed by Mikhail in second place and Surmise in third place.

PUNTERS enjoyed a day at the races as Coffs Harbour Racecourse reopened with over 1,100 pouring through the doors for the six race event.

Miss Pierpoint won the opening $15k race with Mikhail finishing second and Surmise in third as the crowd cheered home the horses down the final straight in a buoyant atmosphere.

Race two was won by Anatolian Charm who is trained locally by Brad Munro and another locally trained horse won race three where Too Much Heaven stretched home by a nose.

Trainer Donna Grisedale sees plenty of potential for the young filly Too Much Heaven.

“We were very happy to win with the filly at just her second start, she has a lot of potential and will improve again from this win,” said Donna.

Tim Saladine from Coffs Harbour Racing Club said the club is grateful for the community support.

“The club welcomed back crowds yesterday and had a great response with over 1,100 people on the course.

“The weather just held off for the six race card with two locally trained winners.

“The club is very grateful for all the support they received from the community and look forward to seeing everyone again at our next race meeting on Thursday 2 December.

“The racing starts at midday and there are 8 showcase races worth $30K each which is great prize money for a country meeting,” said Tim.
