Local Vinnies members will soon be distributing hampers to invited families in the area, aware that households are feeling the intense pressure of the rising costs of living. “Hundreds of families in our region are experiencing immense hardship, and this has been exacerbated by rising rents and increased food costs,” said Yvonne Wynen from St Vincent de Paul Society in Coffs Harbour. “Many are unsure how they’ll be able to feed their families, let alone find presents for their children this Christmas. “That pain just intensifies at Christmas time and business owners like Andrew MacLeod are to be commended for their generosity. “These gift cards will make quite a difference to many families we assist.”
