Coffs Harbour Breakers go top of the AFL North Coast ladder

THE Coffs Breakers have roared to the top of the AFL North Coast ladder with a resounding win over the previously undefeated Lismore Swans.

The 63-point win was built on the back of a dominant performance by Breakers’ midfielder Michael McMahon who booted nine goals.

It was a big day for the Breakers as the women’s team maintained its unbeaten record by also recording a win over the Swans.

Port Macquarie’s women earned their first win of the season with a strong display against Grafton.

The Magpies men couldn’t replicate the result in their first home match of the season, finding reigning premier Grafton too strong in the 89-50 result.

Northern Beaches recorded its first victory of the year in the senior competition by overcoming Nambucca Valley in wet conditions. The win keeps the Blues in touch with the top four.

This Saturday Coffs Breakers travel to Grafton to play in the match of the day.

Northern Beaches will be at home against the Lismore Swans while Port Macquarie hosts Sawtell/Toormina.

Neither the Casino Lions or Nambucca Valley have had a win so far this season but one team is due to break that drought when the two meet at Casino.
