Coffs Coast primary schools contest state basketball knockout at gala day Coffs Coast Sport News Of The Area by News Of The Area - Modern Media - June 23, 2021 Narranga Public School’s successful boys’ and girls’ basketball teams. SOME of the region’s best primary school basketball teams played off in a knockout competition as they looked to progress in the state-wide PSSA Boys and Girls Knockout Gala Day at Sportz Central. Primary schools travelled from across the region to take part in the gala day, including Bonville, Sawtell, Tyalla, Coffs Harbour, Mullaway, Boambee, Kororo, Urunga, Nambucca Heads, Narranga and Frank Partridge. Both Narranga teams performed well on the day to advance to the next round of the state-wide competition. Kororo girls and Nambucca Heads boys also progressed to the next round of the state knockout. Coffs Harbour Basketball Association and Coffs Harbour High School supplied the referees to officiate the big day of junior basketball. Newly appointed Basketball NSW regional North development officer Cristi Juffermans provided each team with a new Spalding basketball which was presented to a student displaying great sportsmanship and team play. The Coffs Harbour Basketball Association will be running an “I’m a Girl, I Can Do Anything – Come and Try Basketball” session at Sportz Central on Monday, 5 July, from 9am to 12pm. It will be free for all girls, of all abilities, aged between 6 – 16 years.
