TENNIS ACE AT THE TOP OF HER GAME

Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh said Karangi tennis star Ruby Pade has caught the eye of the Premier with her stellar performances at national level.

Mr Singh today presented Ruby, 13, with a NSW Government certificate in recognition of her selection to represent her state. The certificate is signed by Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Mr Singh.

“In October last year, Ruby’s NSW PSSA tennis team contested the national primary schools titles, known as the Bruce Cup, in Perth,” Mr Singh said.

“Not only did her team win, but Ruby remained undefeated in her singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches.

“This capped off Ruby’s remarkable primary school sporting story. Her other achievements include reaching the NSW PSSA State titles in the 100m sprint, long jump, swimming, softball and cross country, as well as being a member of the Narranga Public School girls softball and cricket teams which won their respective state titles last year.

“Now at Coffs Harbour High School, Ruby’s winning ways continue, claiming gold in the 15 and under girls singles at the NSW CHS tennis titles.

“Ruby is certainly proving a force to be reckoned with in the sport she loves. She’s an outstanding young ambassador for the Coffs Coast.”

Ruby is coached by her father, Allan.
