A regular group of passionate dog owners who use the Medowie dog park have banded together to put on a Christmas party for man’s best friend.

The venue will be the Port Stephens Council Medowie dog park on Coachwood Drive on 3 December from 10am until 2pm.

One of the organisers, Peter Evans told News Of The Area, “We want everyone to feel comfortable to come down with their dogs and meet some other locals.”

“We’ve got lots of fun things organised, and want to kick off the Christmas season right by celebrating with our furry friends.”

“We’re grateful for this park, and to be able to get together on occasions like this and celebrate with all the responsible dog owners of Medowie and surrounds,” he said.

The Group have organised a number of activities, including prizes for best dressed, biggest dog, smallest dog, fluffiest dog and more.

Entry is by gold coin donation, and all funds raised on the day will go towards a collection of dog toys to be left at the park for users to enjoy day to day with their dogs.

A sausage sizzle will be cooked for all the human attendees, and there’ll be dog friend beef patties for the pooches.

Generous local businesses have donated towards helping the dogs have their day.

Peter said, “A huge thanks needs to go to our sponsors for helping us get this event happening.”
