The majority of members were able to attend, unfortunately three were unable due to sickness on the day. The day was a great success with an entrée of canapés, followed by alternate mains of scrumptious pork belly and chicken supreme. Dessert was a trio of desserts for each person, consisting of Christmas pudding, a pavlova roulade and a raspberry jelly mousse. There were lucky door prizes of wonderful Christmas baskets, all prepared by one of the members from donations from members of the Club. Kevin Tomlinson, Secretary of the Probus Club, told News Of The Area, “The Club certainly lived up to the motto of Probus of Friendship, Fellowship and Fun, with members thoroughly enjoying the lunch, which was the last function for this year.” There was also a presentation of 10 Year Pins to three members who have achieved that milestone. The Combined Probus Club of Medowie meets at the Medowie Community Centre on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (December excepted) at 10.00 am. Retired, or semi-retired members of the Medowie and surrounding area are always welcome to attend meetings, meet new people and listen to guest speakers on a variety of subjects. The Club also arranges other functions through the year ranging from trips to exciting places to having fun lunch days with entertainment.
