Celebrating our MidCoast seniors Myall Coast by News Of The Area - Modern Media - February 8, 2023 A JAM-PACKED program of fun and excitement will celebrate MidCoast seniors over Seniors Festival 2023. ‘Celebrate together’ is this year’s theme and you are invited to attend one of the events taking place across the region until 12 February. Council is hosting a diverse range of free activities and events that offer something for everyone, to bring our seniors together to celebrate. You will enjoy activities from comedy, painting and yoga, to bush tucker, tech classes, movie screenings and more. Come along to try something new, meet new people, and celebrate you! “I encourage everyone to celebrate the important seniors in their lives at all times, but especially during this Seniors Festival,” said MidCoast Council Mayor Claire Pontin. “If you are over 65, you make up almost one third of our population. “I want to pay tribute to you for the countless ways you benefit our community, because of your extensive experience and skills, and the way you share this with family and with the community through your generous volunteering. “Our community is enriched and our economy benefits through the important roles you play.” NSW Seniors Festival is the largest celebration for seniors in the southern hemisphere. MidCoast Council is committed to enhancing the lifestyles of our ageing population as set out in our MidCoast Ageing Strategy 2022-2026.
