A RECENT meeting of the Probus Club of Port Stephens turned out to be another bonus event for members and guests with the celebration of their new Nonagenarian (someone between 90-99 years young), Club member Edna Lloyd.

Edna’s husband John joined the club in 1984 and together they were heavily involved in club activities, John was a director and a life member with Edna always by his side.

Edna joined the club in her own right in 2013 and still attends most meetings and social events.

Edna turned ninety on 29 May with much celebration.

David Heath of the Probus Club of Port Stephens told News Of The Area, “The guest speaker for this meeting was local photographer Brent Mail and his wife Tracy from Nelson Bay photographers.

“Brent gave an enthusiastic presentation showing his fascination for Australian nature and the wildlife in South African, his country of origin.”

However the duo’s showcase proves that you don’t have to go on safari in Africa to see stunning wildlife with Australia’s local dingos a highlight of the event.

“The stunning photographs presented by these two passionate people kept the audience spellbound, and of particular interest was the resident Dingo family at Mungo Brush and their ongoing development,” he said.

The African presentation reflected the enthusiasm of the group that did the tour in the name of photography.

Visitors are most welcome to join Port Stephens Probus Club in their outings and presentations.
