“I view the Bowraville Theatre Players as a valuable asset for performing arts in the Nambucca Valley,” Elizabeth Newman, President of the Bowraville Theatre Players, told News Of The Area.

“We are a platform for performers of all ages and abilities and we are looking for directors, set dressers and shoppers.”

The Players are also looking for organised types who might like to try their hand at stage management, artistic people for set design and even have positions for those interested in IT, media and promotional work.

“We are about more than just getting up on stage and offer a learning experience on the many and varied aspects of putting on a staged production, covering stagecraft, lighting, sound and so much more,” Elizabeth added.

The Bowraville Theatre Players have been involved in a number of fabulous productions over the years, from the ‘Wizard of OZ’ in 2012 to the ‘Laugh Out Loud’ comedy gala in 2020.

In 2019 the ‘Love Notes’ production showcased some of the Valley’s best young musical talent – Heath Lancaster, Clementine, Mae, Dylan Mann and more.

The Theatre Players are planning on at least two productions in 2023 culminating in a Gala Christmas event for the end of the year.

“If you have ideas, a passion to perform, or would like to help someone else realise their dreams of being on stage, come along to Bowraville Theatre, 74 High Street, Bowraville on 11th March at 10am, we’d love to see you,” Elizabeth concluded.
