IN the wake of a review of Green Slip (CTP) insurance policies the NSW Government is currently rebating NSW car owners on overpayments to insurance companies in 2017.

For every car registered in NSW in 2017 there is a rebate available if not already claimed.

41,910 CTP policy holders in Port Stephens have claimed $830,363 in CTP Green Slip refunds.

Many policyholders are yet to claim their refunds.

NSW Minister for Finance, Services and Property Victor Dominelllo told News Of The Area, “Policy holders can access the rebates at Service NSW branches using the digital platforms or online.”

You can apply online between 5pm and 8am for your refund.

Refunds for standard cars insured for the full year of 2017 average $116 per vehicle.

Businesses are not missing out either with a class 3e goods vehicle registered for the full year receiving an average refund of over $500 and each taxi eligible for an average refund of over $2000.

Minister Dominello is pleased with the outcome, “How often do you see an insurance policy come down?,” he asked.

“But that is what the NSW Government has been able to negotiate for NSW drivers,” he said.

The Minister is urging Port Stephens residents to claim their refunds,, it is a quick and simple process and most policyholders will receive.

Councillor Abbott told News Of The Area, “I still need to login and get my rebate, but I know that Port Stephens families will appreciate the extra money that the Berejiklian government is refunding in their pockets.”

The insurance reforms will also see those injured in a motor vehicle accident regardless of fault eligible for up to six months income payments.

Port families may also still be able to claim the Active Kids sports voucher with each child eligible for a $100 voucher.

Local Port Stephens families have already accessed 4,368 of the $100 Active Kids vouchers to pay for sporting activities to assist their children in enjoying a healthy and active lifestyle.
