Carols and Cheers at the Great Lakes Council building FEATURED MidCoast LGA (overall news) by NOTA - December 14, 2014December 10, 2014 Christmas Eve might be the time you decide to complete your end of year business at Great Lakes Council. If that’s what you’re planning, come along with some good cheer in store. You’ll also be most welcome to pop in and share some Christmas cheer with Council staff and Councillors, even if you have no Council business to attend to. For many years now, Council employees have pooled their considerable musical talents to perform “Carols in the Office”, serenading a growing crowd each year in Forster’s Customer Service Centre in Breese Parade Forster. This year the carolling gets underway at 9am on Wednesday 24 December. The whole community is invited to attend to share some good old fashioned Christmas Spirit. It is an opportunity to be together at this very important time of the year and reflect on the year past. Mayor Cr Jan McWilliams said, “Christmas is a very special time, not only for family and friends, but for the community at large to share good cheer with each other.” “I do hope you will be able to join us, even if only for a short while, to enjoy some carols and sing along with us,” she said. “This is an opportunity for Council staff and councillors to thank local people for everything they do to build community in the Great Lakes,” said Mayor McWilliams. There will be something for everyone, so come along and bring your friends! If you feel like it, dress up festively.
