Buskers doing it for Lifeline Coffs Coast Coffs Coast News by News Of The Area - Modern Media - September 29, 2022 The Coffs Harbour Buskers Festival will continue despite weather challenges. WITH just days to go of the 2022 Coffs Harbour Buskers Festival, organisers have come up with an innovative community initiative to finish off this year’s event. For the first time in the event’s history, the entire proceeds of the hat of one act will go to charity. Festivsal organisers John Logan Entertainment have partnered with Lifeline who will receive the funds. “Awareness of mental health issues is a major talking point in the community right now and we hope that with this initiative, this will continue,” said John Logan. Two sponsors including Good Price Pharmacy Warehouse have contributed to cover the busker’s hat and made the entire thing possible. Former world champion sand sculptor Dennis Massoud, who has worked all over the world, will be set up for two days from 9am at the Jetty Foreshores. On Saturday he will be on the sand near the concrete steps and on Sunday he will be further up the grass at the Harbourside Markets so people can watch him work. Dennis’ hat proceeds will go to Lifeline. Two new acts have also been brought in to assist ‘Sandman’ and make sure the Festival finishes with a bang. American Rashaun Daniels who performs as ‘I Am Basketball Man’ will perform for Saturday and Sunday only with shows at Harbourside Markets, Moonee and Toormina Hotels while The African Acrobats will be doing three shows on Sunday only including the Harbourside Markets and Sawtell Hotel. Buskers in the rain The lot of an event organiser is never an easy one and the last week’s rain has proven to be another challenge but organisers promise as much as possible is being done to have indoor options available. Luckily organisers have a suite of venue options to cover most, but not all venues. Adult comedy on the move In another ambitious move, the Festival’s adult comedy nights have moved to the Golf Club. Dubbed the ‘Buskers Unreal Comedy Gala’, Lindsay Webb will headline both nights with two nights of crazy antics promised. With only a small number of tickets still available, organisers suggest you book now on www.trybooking.com/952636 Dennis Massoud, the sand artist behind this dragon sculpture, will be set up for two days from 9am at the Jetty Foreshores.
