Bulahdelah Swimming Club is ready for the start of season Bulahdelah, Wootton, Nerong FEATURED by NOTA - October 21, 2014 The Bulahdelah pool is open for business. “That means it’s time to start another season of Swimming Club,” said Meredyth Rae from the Bulahdelah Swimming Club. The Swimming Club is aimed to be full of fun as well as helping to improve general fitness. According to Asthma Australia, swimming is one of the best forms of exercise for people with asthma, especially children, as it is less likely to cause asthma symptoms. This is because when you’re swimming, you are breathing in air near the surface of the water that is warmer and more humid, or moist, than normal air. Anyone, child or adult alike, can join Bulahdelah Swimming Club. “The only requirement being that you are able to swim one lap of the pool,” said Meredyth. “There will be at least three adults swimming this year and we’d love to have others join also,” she said. The club meets together Monday afternoons at 3.45pm, where swimmers race with other swimmers in their grade. Swimmers are graded according to ability, not age. They are rewarded when their personal times are improved, regardless of their finishing position. Meredyth said that if you haven’t been before, to come along and find out about Swimming Club. “If you or your child are interested in joining a swimming club and you’d like to know more about us then we’d love to see you there,” Meredyth told Myall Coast News.
