Bulahdelah Swimming Carnival produces some fast performances

On 30 January Bulahdelah Central School held the Secondary Swimming Carnival.

Even though it had rained all week the sunshine was out for the carnival.

Looking out over the pool area it was a sea of green, yellow, blue and red.

The house marquees provided great needed shade because as the day went on the temperature got hotter.

While the students’ attendance was quite good the participation rates were low, with some of the students not getting in the pool at all.

However, there were some outstanding swimming performances and most of the students enjoyed the refreshing continuous swim.

The school trialled a new event this year, the house synchronised swimming event.

The house captains were given 10 minutes to get a team of 8 students and choreograph a 30 second routine to meet the given criteria.

The performances were amazing, even from the teacher’s team.

It proved to be one of the best events of the day.

The School aims to increase the overall participation for next year’s carnival.

Congratulations to the Secondary 2015 age champions:
