Many tourist buses use this stop and it is the first impression of Bulahdelah for the travellers. “We saw this bus shelter as the ugliest thing in Bulahdelah. “It was all rundown and it’s not a nice thing if you’re coming as a tourist,” said Mrs Dixon. With a fresh coat of paint, new tourist information and the surroundings being made more inviting, the shelter now shows off the town in its best light. Lions Clubs also contribute to the wider community by funding initiatives such as medical research into childhood cancer, assistance dogs for the hearing impaired, diabetes awareness and youth programs just to name a few. Recently they were able to assist farmers that needed bales of hay during the floods in rural areas with the provision of a free breakfast for weary truck drivers. They have many up and coming projects in our local community, so watch this space. Interested in joining this community organisation?
