Bulahdelah was one of 13 finalists in the Excellence in Local Chamber category, just missing the top spot by half a point. NSW Business Chamber CEO Stephen Cartwright said due to the quality of Bulahdelah’s entry, judges unanimously recommended the local chamber for a special award. “This is the first year I have awarded the CEO Highly Commended Certificate and I am delighted to support the State Judges in their recommendation,” Mr Cartwright said. Bulahdelah progressed to the state finals after winning their category at the Hunter Business Awards earlier this year. “This recognition is the result of many people at the local level working tirelessly to achieve the best for their community,” John said. “It has taken many years of hard work to reach this point, it has been a journey not a destination, and there is still a lot to achieve.” The recent award ceremony was held at the International Conference Centre at Darling Harbour and was attended by more than 1,000 business representatives from around the state. The awards were presented in 12 categories, celebrating business success across a variety of industries. “It places us on the map and demonstrates that no matter how small your town is or how small you think your voice is, you can make a difference,” John said. After a well-deserved break over the holiday period, the Bulahdelah Chamber will be embarking on new and exciting projects in 2018.
