HANDMADE is heartfelt.

Kindergarten children of Bulahdelah Central School certainly felt the love from the Bulahdelah branch of the Country Women’s Association when they were gifted with 23 library bags, each lovingly made by hand.

“The bags are a wonderful gesture of caring, and one that will encourage our young students on their reading journeys,” said Debbie Booth, Instructional Leader at Bulahdelah Central School.

“We appreciate the time and effort the ladies put into making the beautiful bags.”

By having these bags, students will be able to borrow a book from the library and take it home without damaging the book.

The Kindergartners were very grateful for their new book bags and were thrilled with the fabric choices.

“My library bag is very pretty, it’s blue and white,” student Olivia Styles gushed.

“I like using it when we have library [class] because I can take a book home.”

Classmate Kalel Davis rated his bag highly.

“I like my library bag, it’s a 10.

“It’s got green and blue swirls and it looks good.”

Members of the Bulahdelah CWA are famous for their generosity towards the school, with the local organisation supporting Bulahdelah Central School’s recent School-to-Work Go-Getters’ Program and presentation assemblies.

“Their ongoing commitment to our students, especially during the challenging events of the past 12 months, is greatly valued,” said Ms Booth.
