Bulahdelah Central School students recognised in MidCoast Youth Awards

THE MidCoast Youth Awards is an initiative of Taree PCYC (Police Citizens Youth Group) and MidCoast Council that recognises the valuable contributions young people aged 12-24 in the MidCoast Council region by celebrating the achievements of individuals across seven categories (The Arts, Community Service, Leadership, Sports, Wellbeing, Resilience and Entrepreneurship).

Although the winners of the awards will not be announced until later in the term, Bulahdelah Central School has students recognised in three of the seven categories; Sally Curnow in the Arts, Seleana Murphy for Leadership and Crystal Maynard and Amber O’Bryan for Wellbeing.

Sally is a proud Worimi young woman who has excelled in the Creative and Performing Arts.

Her work, which spans across the areas of painting, dance, music, drama and language, reflects her identity as an Indigenous Australian and her deep respect for her cultural heritage.

Seleana is an exceptional young leader.

She is well respected for her honesty, integrity and commitment to helping others.

She has actively promoted the school values through her outstanding participation, exemplary conduct and commitment to her studies.

Crystal and Amber have been recognised for their contribution to the school’s Garden Blitzer’s Project.

The girls assisted with the design and construction of the outdoor space adjacent to the art rooms, creating a relaxation area for the school community to enjoy.
