IN what is a rite of passage for many students from the region, Year 3 and 4 students from Bulahdelah Central School (BCS) have attended a fun-filled few days at the Great Aussie Bush Camp.

The students enjoyed three days at camp, taking part in a variety of activities designed to improve their skills, learn new things and take them out of their comfort zone.

Some of the challenging activities were archery, bush craft, rock climbing, commando spotlight, flying fox and the high ropes.

For the students from Bulahdelah, memories were made which will last a lifetime.

“There were many more activities and I had so much fun,” said Chelsea Haley.

“I will always remember that experience of camp.

“I am so grateful for all the staff there who looked after us,” she said.

Commando Spotlight was one activity which earned rave reviews from the BCS students.

“I liked commando spot light,” said Abbiegail Ray.

“It was fun hiding from the teachers because it was kind of like you were going to detention, but you didn’t want to go, so you ran to the bush and started hiding.

“Obviously, the kids won,” she said.

BCS student Mia Garemyn enjoyed some of the more adrenaline inducing aspects of the camp.

“My favourite things were the flying fox and the giant swing because they were the most fun things I have ever done in my whole life!” she said.
