The children also had fun playing together in the sandpit and cubby house and took turns on the swing.
The visit was the first of many transition activities organised to help make the step to big school a little easier for the children who will be starting Kindergarten in 2018.
“It will be fun to have all of them come to school, they can see all the activities we do, the word wall and all the decorations in the room,” kindy student Annabelle Smith said.
“I am going to make lots of new friends and I can’t wait to show them the whole school,” Abbiegail Rae said.
As part of the transition program, five orientation days will be held at Bulahdelah Central School next term to help the youngsters settle into their new learning environment.
BCS Assistant Principal, Mrs Carol Wills, said the program is an exciting part of the Term 4 calendar.
“It is wonderful to greet our 2018 Kindergarten students who are looking forward to big school,” she said.
“It is also important to acknowledge that with the excitement of beginning school, it can be an anxious and uncertain time for children and parents.”
Mrs Wills said the orientation sessions aim to alleviate these worries through presenting a supportive and happy start to formal schooling.
The Kindergarten Orientation Days will be held at Bulahdelah Central School commencing on 12 October.
