Now new works to improve The Bucketts Way intersection at Weismantels Road are underway. The works will include vegetation removal, a dedicated right turn lane, road widening and resurfacing. A drainage upgrade in Weismantels Road will help prevent flooding. Road users should expect short delays. There will be 40kph speed limits in place and temporary traffic controls, including lights and lane closures at some times. “We thank road users for their patience as we undertake these important upgrades,” said MidCoast Council’s Acting Manager Operations North, Peter Gesling. “Once completed, this section of The Bucketts Way will be safer, quieter and much more comfortable to drive on.” The works are scheduled for completion in August, weather permitting, and are funded by the Federal Government, the NSW Government and MidCoast Council. They are part of a major program to improve the road link between the Mid North Coast hinterlands, the Northern Tablelands and the Pacific Highway to Newcastle. The program aims to improve opportunities for regional development. For more information about road works happening across the MidCoast, go to midcoast.nsw.gov.au/roads. By Marian SAMPSON
