MIDCOAST Council has completed work to reconstruct a 500 metre length of the Bucketts Way at the Stroud Hill Road intersection.

Council received funding through the Australian Government’s Black Spot Programme which is an initiative to reduce crashes on Australian roads.

“The section of the road where work was undertaken was in poor condition and did not have any safety barriers in place” said Council’s Director of Engineering Services Ron Hartley.

“The work has seen drainage improved and the road pavement widened and reconstructed.  A safety barrier has been installed along the western embankment of the work to improve safety and lessen the severity of a crash over the embankment.”

“An asphalt surfacing was laid over the Bucketts Way intersection with Stroud Hill Road this week” said Council’s Operations Manager, Robert Fish.

“All that remains to complete the job is line marking, which is expected to occur in July.  The project progressed well and is a credit to all Council staff involved.”

Council’s Stroud Depot Operations staff undertook the construction project.  This is the second project completed on the Buckets Way over 2015-2016, with a section of road reconstructed in the Allworth area earlier this year.
