Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au From the age of five, Bridget has been singing, dancing and performing all the way to her recent achievement, being part of the graduating cohort of the Talent Development Project (TDP), one of the highest esteemed programs in Australia. Each year, 80 students from Year Ten to Twelve in New South Wales are selected for the program, and throughout the year, this number is reduced until only a small handful of people who are deemed ready to begin a career in show business remain. Port Stephens local, Bridget Phipps has earned her place in this elite handful of people. Having just completed a season at the Young People’s Theatre in The Addams Family Young @ Part, playing the lead role of Morticia Addams, Bridget is a talented young woman balancing her HSC and performing whilst making time to graduate the program. From ‘Seussical The Musical’ to ‘Suddenly Last Summer’, she has put in the hard work, with the right attitude to succeed in what she loves to do. Throughout her time in the TDP, Bridget has been challenged professionally to achieve her best. “There was one time I didn’t get right with the task, it wasn’t what they wanted and so I took on their feedback and went and fixed it. “I decided not to give up and to just learn from the situation to improve my work. “Throughout my career so far that’s how I’ve developed. I’ve not let anything hold me back.” Her advice to others in the area was, “If you want to do something, just do it. “Find a way to do it because it’ll be so worth it.” Congratulations Bridget on such a large achievement and best of luck with your graduation performance.
