Bobs Farm Public School students receive golf taster lessons Medowie, Ferodale, Campvale Williamtown, Salt Ash by News Of The Area - Modern Media - July 6, 2016 Bobs Farm students receiving putting tips WHILE golf is generally known as a sport for all ages, genders and ability levels, it’s not often the course is full of players with their age still in single digits. Pacific Dunes Golf Course recently played host to students in years 3-6 from Bob’s Farm Public School, as part of a 4-week program both at school and at the Medowie course. Part of the collaboration between the Australian Government’s ‘Sporting Schools’ initiative, the largest school-based sports participation program, and the ‘My Golf’ program, students were introduced to golf, focusing on areas such as warm up, chipping, full swing games, golf knowledge and etiquette. Battling the windy conditions, the 16 lucky students were tutored by Pacific Dunes community golf coach, Amanda Burns. The Pacific Dunes course has recently adopted a new initiative, establishing a ‘Kids’ Course’, specifically designed to cater for the younger golfer. Aqua coloured tees have been strategically placed to provide a 3800m, par 72 course for juniors. Want your business advertised online with the News Of The Area? If you are considering which school your children should attend, look to a school run by Principal Megan Elliott. She must be one of the most innovative educationalists in NSW. Megan knows the benefits of attending a small school and ensures students do not miss out on amazing experiences. She has introduced countless innovations at Bobs Farm and previously Millers Forest PS. I’m a retired teacher who has been fortunate to have worked in schools run by Mrs Elliott. She is an outstanding Principal who understands the unique experiences and opportunities that small schools can offer. Reply
