Best North Coast Football clubs of 2021 Coffs Coast Sport Sport by News Of The Area - Modern Media - October 27, 2021 Sawtell FC were one of the standout clubs of the North Coast Football season. 2021 was one of the biggest seasons seen in the history of North Coast Football. 2021 saw 5,200 players in over 450 teams from 25 clubs compete in 28 divisions. North Coast Football General Manager Andrew Woodward reflected on a big year of football. “It’s been the biggest year ever for football on the North Coast,” he said. “We had a record number of players and teams, with one new club joining the local football family, we bounced back nicely from 2020. “Anywhere between 10,000 and 20,000 people are out and about every weekend watching football on the North Coast.” Here are the standout clubs of the 2021 season. Coffs City United: The Lions were the undefeated minor premiers in the Coastal Premier League and did the double by finishing minor premiers in reserve grade. The club also excelled in women’s competitions with the Lionesses finishing on top of the ladder in the second division South and over 30s divisions. The Lions were also premiers of the Coffs 14s boys junior competition. Boambee FC: The Eagles went undefeated in the women’s first division season, while the Bombers finished third on the Coastal Premier League ladder. The Bombers were also Coffs 15s boys premiers. Sawtell FC: Produced one of North Coast Football’s best junior teams with the clubs 12s girls team undefeated premiers. The club’s Over 35s men’s first division and 12s boys second division teams also finished as season premiers. Bellingen FC: The standout club of the Coffs girls competitions finishing as 16s and 14s girls premiers. Also finished on top of the ladder in the men’s second division South competition. Yamba Breakers: Were season premiers in the third division North men’s and were the standout club of the Clarence juniors finishing as premiers in the 16s, 14s, and 12s competitions. Northern Storm: Were the only club to have two boys premiers finishing on top of the ladder in the 16s and 12s boys first division competitions. Coffs Coast Tigers: Finished second on the ladder in the Coastal Premier League and were the 17 boys premiers. By Aiden BURGESS
