Ben Anderson receives excels in HSC results and becomes Dux of Tomaree High School

BEN Anderson of Tomaree High School was one of over 68,000 students across New South Wales who sat their High School Certificate in 2020.

After a disrupted year where many students fell short with their studies, Ben rose to the occasion receiving an excellent ATAR of 96.95.

This number is his Australian Tertiary Admission Rank, meaning that Ben received results better than 96.95% of students.

This result earned Ben with many accolades, including the prestigious Dux of School Cup at Tomaree High School, which he will be awarded with once school returns for the New Year.

Along with this outstanding achievement Ben was placed upon the 2020 HSC Honour Roll, which recognises students across New South Wales who received results at either a Band Six or E4 level.

Undergoing Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension One, Mathematics Extension Two, English Advanced, Physics, Personal Development/ Health/ Physical Education and Legal Studies, Ben had an immense workload for his final two years of school.

“There is no ‘trick’ in the HSC, you just have to study.

“But, if you feel that getting into university or doing really well in the HSC isn’t what you want then make sure you figure out what it is you do what, and go after it,” said Ben Anderson.

Originally Ben had planned to spend 2021 travelling and working in Europe for ten months, however due to COVID-19 this plan has been delayed and instead, Ben will be attending the Australian National University in Canberra where he will be studying a double degree of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science.
