THE BELLINGEN Agricultural Show is on this weekend and organisers say they are ready and thrilled to present such a fabulous event once again.

Bellingen Show President Gillian Anderson said show attendees can see the entrants and winners of the EJ Mantova Memorial Art Prize judged last Saturday.

Ms Anderson said “This much loved art competition has returned for 2021 with great success.

“The only interruptions to this community supported art competition over the past 45 years has been flood and COVID,” she added.

“The Bellingen Shire and neighbouring regions have rallied together to ensure the EJ Mantova Memorial Art Competition cements its place as an integral part of the creative mid north coast.”

All the paintings and sculptures will be on display over the show weekend.

The programme is packed with popular features such as the woodchop events on Saturday, and the Mongrel Dog Show, Young Farmers Challenge and Partner Carrying Competition on Sunday.

On Saturday morning, the Entertainment Tent will feature local schools and dance performances as well as the wonderful Gumbaynggirr Choir in the afternoon.

On Sunday morning, anyone can join the Fun Run for an early morning sprint.

Celebrity Chef Clayton Donovan will be showing some of the wonderful ways he prepares some of his favourite foods all weekend.

Backing him up is local Chef Mitch Donovan with cooking for the children, nose to tail with local organic beef and fermentation.

The Mounted Police will be in attendance on their horses mingling with the crowd.

The Sydney Puppet Theatre will be staging performances all weekend and there is free face painting, a petting zoo, plus children’s passports to entertain younger patrons.

There are lots of prizes to enter in as well, including a chance to be at the Chef’s Table at 2.30 Sunday afternoon.

Tickets are on sale at the Luncheon Room at a cost of $5 and will be drawn at 4pm Saturday.

Tickets to the show are available online and as Ms Anderson notes, “Are cheaper, quicker and help us keep you all Covid Safe.”
