Madeline Drew launched her debut novel ‘The White’ on Saturday 21 April 2018.

She is a Port Stephens local through and through, having grown up in the area, and attended Tomaree HIgh School.

Madeline told News Of The Area, “I’ve aspired to be an author for approximately ten years.”

“My good friend Nicole Thompson is also a local and former student of Tomaree.”

“She just so happens to have career goals as an editor, so the the two of us are proud to have The White be our first official works as an author and editor,” she said.

The White took Madeline approximately eighteen months to write, and a further six months to work on the typesetting and publication process, as she has chosen to self-publish.

The White has been available for sale on her website since early March 2018.

Madeline said, “It is targeted to a young adult/teenage audience, but due to the vast character ages and personalities, it has so far been enjoyed by readers age 13 through to 89.”

“The novel mainly follows three characters, Layla Lewis, Miles Young and Aaron Thompson as they navigate and figure out a ‘new way of life’.”

“The White is part of a trilogy, with follow on books The Grey and The Black being my current projects,” she said.
